Most NZ wedding photographers charge between $2,500 and $5,500 for full-day coverage. Elopement or half-day packages typically start around $1,500. Prices vary by region, experience and what’s included. Always check what deliverables come with the quote.

Book 9–12 months ahead for peak season (November–April). Popular photographers in Queenstown and Central Otago often book 12–18 months out. Off-peak dates are more flexible.

The main styles are documentary (candid, unposed), fine-art (editorial, styled), and classic (traditional posed portraits). Most NZ photographers blend documentary and fine-art. Look at full galleries, not just highlight reels, to see how they cover a whole day.
